The health and safety of our youth, staff, and surrounding community are our priority.

Our goal is to provide access to as many youth as possible while reducing the risk of the spread of COVID-19. The following procedures are the result of thoughtful and cautious planning, adhering to state and city guidance. We are committed to the safety of our staff, members, and mentors.

Safety Precautions

All members, mentors, and staff are required to take a temperature check upon arrival. Staff will record the temperature and complete a brief health questionnaire for each visitor. Anyone with a temperature higher than 100.4° will not be allowed to enter.

Once inside the Clubhouse, everyone is required to wear a mask at all times. Everyone who enters must use hand sanitizer in the vestibule and then immediately wash their hands once inside The Clubhouse.

All staff and members will be required to clean up after themselves after each use of equipment in our space. We will perform a cleaning of the space before opening and halfway through the day. A professional cleaning company will provide daily cleanings each evening.

In the event that a youth, mentor, or staff member becomes ill while at The Clubhouse, they will be isolated in Learning Lab – Play room until arrangements are made for them to leave the facility. If they exhibit any symptoms of coronavirus, The Clubhouse will be closed immediately until our professional cleaning service can disinfect the space. In the event they later test positive for COVID-19, all youth and parents/guardians, mentors, and staff will be notified.

Food may be consumed only in the Learning Lab – Purpose room. We will provide a trash bin for food waste. The kitchen will be closed and there will be no access to the refrigerator or microwave. Plastic utensils and bottled water will be provided. Youth, mentors, and staff will be encouraged to bring food from home that doesn’t require heating or to order take-out. Everyone must wash their hands before and after eating.

The pottery wheel area will be repurposed into a cleaning station. We will also provide a sanitizing station in the vestibule area.

There is a half-hour between the two shifts each day in order to avoid contact between those departing and those arriving. The half-hour also allows for staff to conduct a thorough cleaning between shifts.

Equipment Use and Availability

Only one member is allowed in the Music Studio at a time. A number of chairs, computers, and workstations have been removed for social distancing. Sections of the green table are blocked off for social distancing. Maker supplies, cameras, and similar tools will be sanitized between uses by members and staff. There will be no use of VR headsets until further notice.
