You are invited to the Boston Computer Clubhouse Film Festival!

  Join us in celebrating and showcasing Boston Computer Clubhouse youth media made over the past academic year this Friday!  From a documentary on love stories, to an action comedy about paranormal investigators, to getting a glance into Hinduism, come and watch what the talented Boston Computer Clubhouse youth have created.  There will be a brief Q&A with the Computer Clubhouse youth media makers after the festival.    For more question contact ellen daoust edaoust@mos.org

June Jubilation in the Computer Clubhouse

Clubhouse Jams in June

Last Friday the Clubhouse took another awesome adventure into Cambridge.  Thanks to Computer Clubhouse mentor and volunteer Muazzez, Clubhouse members were able to visit the control center for Nasa’s Chandra X-ray Observatory.  The Chandra telescope allows scientists from around the world to obtain X-ray images of exotic environments to help understand the structure and evolution of the universe.  Dr. Michael Juda gave Clubhouse members and mentors a tour around the facilities.  He walked us through the production of the Chandra X-ray Telescope...

C2C Comin’ @ Ya’

Clubhouse members and mentors took an adventure out to Cambridge last Friday to check out Cambridge Access Television.  Neha Agrawal, Youth Media Coordinator at CCTV and guest speaker from the Adobe Youth Voices Documentary Volunteer Internship, gave an awesome tour of CCTV’s facilitates.  Clubhouse members learned the resources available to them at their local access television stations.  They are able to take out equipment, have their own television show, radio show, and take a variety of classes on media production. ...

May Making in the Clubhouse

So far May has been a “month of making” in the Clubhouse.  The Universal Design Workshops continue with some innovative and creative projects.  Manny, Eric, Santa, and Hughey are fully fleshing out their projects that are centered around making games for youth that have difficulty seeing.  Project range from games with the Makey-Makey using sound recognition, to texturized rubik’s cubes, to games that deal with figuring out the scents of food. Two of our Clubhouse Members, Khoa Truong and Sarah Lynch, have made it into the finalist round for the Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards.        Sarah Lynch’s project in the finalist category of documentary can be found here. Clubhouse is back open

The Clubhouse is back in action today.  We are open normal hours this upcoming week.  Tuesday-Thursday we are open from 2:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., Friday from 2:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and Saturday noon-5:00 p.m. Jackie and Ellen learned some awesome stuff this past week at the Annual Conference.  Be sure to ask them to show you pictures and teach you the new tech and art they learned!  Check out a sneak peek of what went down this week in the gallery above.
